Levity –

“The certain prospect of death could sweeten every life with a precious and fragrant drop of levity.” ― Friedrich Nietzsche
angel-in-the-wind
Passing around hard thoughts,
Skipping through rough consequences
Rebuking the threats that abound
A break deserved brought about by
my sweet Levity.
The feasts are prepared,
a peaceful interlude is granted
smiles endure and the future ignored
an intermission paid in full by
my sweet Levity.
All memories are her ethereal songs,
Sweet lullabies sung before the never setting sun
Her persistent touch rocking the cradle
New life borne in light by
my sweet Levity.

Empathy

This method of writing eliminates as many words as I can from an existing piece to create a new element. I leave it open to your capable imagination my dear friends.

“Resolve to be tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant with the weak and wrong. Sometime in your life, you will have been all of these.” – Gautama Buddha

Seeing smiles, feeling frowns
Hearing empty laughter
tears
Wet my reaching palm
A facade of silent screams
Searching, a waiting heart
mourns
 Strangers will never know
 Old
I see their smiles, I feel their frowns

I hear their laughter, their tears wet my palm

Their facade is perfect, their silent screams for relief wake me

Even in laughter their heart mourns, how does a stranger know?

I see your smile, I feel your frown

I hear your laughter, your invisible tears wet my palm

Your facade is perfect, your silent scream for relief wakes me

Even in laughter your heart mourns, how does a stranger know?

Different

“…if something happens to show that you are wrong, then it is feeble not to change your mind, Elizabeth. Only the strongest people have the pluck to change their minds…” – Enid Blyton, The Naughtiest Girl in the School

Different, as lake to rain, that’s how I grow
Different, as rock to sand, that’s how I know
No way to mend the different things
One old one new
Nothing’s gonna change, ’till you change what you do.

Different, as smiles to tears, that’s a truth
Different, as move to stay, that’s a root
You can be a different thing
One tried, one true
Nothing’s gonna change, ’till you change what you do.

Different, as road to rut, that’s how I stand
Different, as belong to reject, that’s how I land
Thinking of doing the different things
Once seen, I do
Nothing’s gonna change, ’till you change what you do.
