Hacker

“It’s not the daily increase but daily decrease. Hack away at the unessential.” – Bruce Lee

summer-paradise-dreamer
The way closes in quickly behind him, the path for retreat lay buried beneath the tangled brush of circumstance and pain and, as the way behind him, so the way forward. Hack. Hack. Cutting through is his only way to survive, so this occupation possesses him as the crash and thrash of falling vines collapse. Pushing against the green and brown thorny tides, his blade finds the branch and creates a hewn option for progress. His muscles shine with the sheen of a mad genius plotting against the onslaught of disbelief and solitary confinement. Hack. Hack. The enemies that dig pits of despair and throw boulders of anger at his stubborn persistence feel the power of his unstoppable advance. Deep jungles and forbidden territories fraught with dangers, they bear the mark of this maker of ways. Hack. Hack. The wayfarers and sojourners of the same trail are out of sight, but if you listen closely to the forested cries of beauties unseen, you know he’s alive, by the sound of his blades, Hack, Hack.

Contentment In Success – Making Time For Others

“No one has ever become poor by giving.” – Anne Frank, diary of Anne Frank
“Those who are happiest are those who do the most for others.”
Booker T. Washington, Up from Slavery

Contrary to popular opinion, getting what I need by ignoring the needs of those around me is a sure path to unhappiness. There’s a spiritual principal that determines my happiness is dependent on giving time, energy, or provision to those around me. When I focus on helping others along the way, I’m equipped to be happier and more content then ever possible. This isn’t so that my happiness and goals are dependent on other people but it’s to consider the needs of others along the way to my goals. When I lay down my plans to assist someone along my way, when I give place to compassion, I discover a key to all success (with success being defined not only as an increase, but as contentment in that increase). Take time today to look outside your world, look beside your path, and find those that need help. As you help them, you are helping yourself to find the best life possible and be content in your success.

Down the Rabbit Hole

Written by the Muse in memory of her beloved man, Barry,  who I met through his group, The Posse’s Lair, on Facebook,
How far down does the rabbit hole go?

You always wanted to know.
Shall I follow you there?
Are you clearing a path as you
Have cleared paths for me before?

Will you wait for me?
You know my impatience.
I was your shadow, turn around
And I was always there.
I looked up
And you were always there.

We were inseparable, compatible,
One body sprung from the other.
It’s a painful separation.

How far down does the rabbit hole go?
I peer inside, it’s dark, and I call out
Only to hear my own voice returning to me,
“Where are you? Can you hear me?”

I’m afraid of the dark.
Will I find brier and root
Blocking my way to you,
My compass star,
Who gave me reason to love,
To laugh, to sing?
Now only this echo is my guide,
Or is it your voice
Calling back to me?
I never could tell the difference..
And that brings me some comfort.

How far down does the rabbit hole go?
You always wanted to know.

We‘ll be there soon Barry, Viva La Revolution!

Through the Mist – Finding a way through opinions

“At night the fog was thick and full of light, and sometimes voices.”

For times and times of multiplied times, I tip-toe through the water colored grays and whites of opinions fog, misty coverings over the truest paths. Stepping off my way, slipping on changing whims of irrelevant interventions, I draw blood, bleeding discouragement, marking my errant route. Sitting on rocks of stubborn pride, I bind the wounds of disillusionment. I sought a torch of brilliant revelation to guide me as the north star, with steady light, steady direction, and comfort in a sure way. What will I use as fuel for this flame that licks the mist from the air? My spirit, deeper than the mind, deeper than the soul, found in the stillness of my chamber, provides urns of truth that ignite my blaze of illumination. Confidently waving my baton of bright dancing tongues, plainly the path stands clear. Excuse my hasty advance past you idle players of hate and jealousy, I am committed to the summit of my life. See my flame high on this mountain, follow me you lost and wandering souls, we will climb above the clouds.
