Unrelenting

“The basic thing nobody asks is why do people take drugs of any sort? Why do we have these accessories to normal living to live? I mean, is there something wrong with society that’s making us so pressurized, that we cannot live without guarding ourselves against it?” – John Lennon

pow-pow

Coming in a sudden burst, forcing itself, peace a detrimental casualty
Pressure from expectation, performance under intense scrutiny

Unrelenting, the pressure builds
Unforgiving, the anger burns
Undelivered, the solace capitulates

Closing my eyes makes me a target, can’t hide from the squeeze
speaking in halted phrases, tongue on fire with words that tease

Undeniable, the pain is exquisite
Unbreakable, the vice of lies
Unchanging, the facades of players

Praying for release, the knotted feeling in my stomach grows
a fist pushing its way up my throat, agony in my neck it shows

Unprovoked, the attacks keep coming
Unstable, love’s foundations destroyed
Unanswered, questions form opinions

Where is the breaking point of my brilliant mind and tenuous sanity?
What will happen when it all falls, without conscience, no lucidity?

Unrelenting acquisition of carefully sifted fantasies

Holy Sanctum – The Invasion

“Sometimes great power brings out the worst in us, and unfortunately, it isn’t until people are given it that we see the true shades of their character.”
Barbara Kloss, Gaia’s Secret

The malevolence is forceful, it pushes on me,

Malicious hands covering my mouth

Tearing at the clothing of my soul, I feel his hardness

Slamming me against a battered wall of reality

Forcing me, the scarred fingers of feigned goodness,

Pulling back the hair on my sacred ground

His hand on my throat, cutting off life from my holy sanctum

Now His weight is on me, in me, pushing and pulling me

I respond with obedient, corrupted innocence

The shattered remains of my soul speak:

Why have you done this?

Masks – Behind the facades of faces you think you know

“Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth.Oscar Wilde

I take a minute, to look out from the world that is me, to see carefully maintained facades in the all the faces looking back. I understand I’m the same, different from what you perceive, disguised in my intentions. I have masks to hide the things that my mind thinks, hiding my brokenness, deceiving you, protecting me. Crafting these masks carefully in the heat of pain, shame polishing the rough edges to a delightful smile, I take cover from you my companion, or you my enemy. These facades have mistakenly become my reality, deceiving myself with this subterfuge and believing my lies, I must lay these falsehoods down, baring my soul to keep my identity. My friends, enemies, and acquaintances, “Who will lay their masks down?” I hear no reply, so let me be first. See into my soul, I’ll not hide. But, you know I’m lying, I spent to long on this mask, to tear it up just for you. I have good intentions in mind, however, most of the time, I plan on getting what I want, even if it’s under the guise of my kind smile.
