After the Show

“Never allow anyone to rain on your parade and thus cast a pall of gloom and defeat on the entire day. Remember that no talent, no self-denial, no brains, no character, are required to set up in the fault-finding business. Nothing external can have any power over you unless you permit it. Your time is too precious to be sacrificed in wasted days combating the menial forces of hate, jealously, and envy. Guard your fragile life carefully. Only God can shape a flower, but any foolish child can pull it to pieces.”
You wanted to see how I roll,

Set me up a sight to behold

Used my defense against me

but I saw straight through, see

Expendable from the beginning,

cause color of my skin I ain’t winning

I acted the fool to gain the trust

now it’s you who rides the short bus

I gain by no violence, put away the guns

Something you thought I’d never done

Read my spits and angered licks

You knew the inside tricks

Don’t look now, I’m a thing to behold

Even if you trashed me, I’m makin gold

My rise is not a thing you saw

In fact it’s not from man at all

There is a way you can all can go

I’ll see you there after the show….
